WALKING & BOATING
AT GLEN STRAE
Walking
With plenty of acres of Glen at your disposal there is much walking to be done. The track road up the glen is seven miles long and as a guest of the lodge you are free to take your cars up the glen and walk from there, we do recommend a 4×4.
Climbing
For those that are more adventurous, the surrounding hills offer plenty of challenging climbing and mountaineering possibilities. We do recommend you always have a clear idea of your route and please do talk to the stalker before setting off , to ensure that someone within Glen Strae has a clear understanding of your route.
Boating
There is a motor boat on Loch Awe which can carry about 8 adults. The boat has to be driven by our ghillie and life jackets must be worn at all times. The islands on Loch Awe make for some good exploring, you can moor the boat up at Kilchurn Castle for a picnic or take it up the mouth of the River Orchy for some fishing.
