The Lodge at Glen Strae

Our traditional Scottish lodge may not be achingly smart, but it is incredibly homely, warm and comfortable. It has been our family’s second home for many years and we love nothing more than welcoming friends old and new.

Kitchen

The kitchen is well equipped and contains both a Rayburn stove and an electric double oven. There is a dishwasher, large fridge and separate freezer, as well as a large larder. The kitchen table comfortably seats about eight and there is a further dining room next door seating ten.

Sitting Room

The cosy sitting room has a log fire. Logs are stored in the garage and you are welcome to help yourself to them.

Bedrooms

The lodge sleeps ten people. One bedroom is a double and all other rooms are twin. Two of the bedrooms are located on the ground floor. All beds are made up with duvets and electric blankets, all linen and bath towels are provided.

Bathrooms

There are three bathrooms upstairs, one of which is an en suite. Bathrooms have heated towel rails and a good supply of hot water. There is a cloakroom on the ground floor.

Laundry & Drying Room

There is a washing machine and tumble dryer that guests are welcome to use. The drying room is ideally suited for all your wet weather kit after a day exploring outside.

T.V and Wifi

We have both sky television and wifi within the lodge.

Pets

Dogs are welcome in the house although we would appreciate it if they can be kept downstairs and out of the bedrooms.

Garden

The garden is lovely with plenty of lawn. It is an enclosed space with a good fence all the way round, so perfectly safe to keep little ones and dogs contained!

Help whilst staying at Glen Strae

We want you to make the absolute best of your time at Glen Strae and have a number of friendly faces on hand to make sure that happens.

Mark is on hand to help with boating, sport or general mucking about. We recommend you seek him out as nobody knows how to make the best of the place as well as he does.

Stuart is the shepherd and looks after the farm and the animals, he lives on the farm just above the lodge so he is your closest neighbour.

Their respective wives, Maria and Cherie, look after the lodge. Should you require any extra help with the lodge during your stay, do let us know in advance so that we can see what arrangements can be made.
