Deer Stalking

The deer stalking season takes place at Glen Strae in September and October, when the surrounding hills offer an exciting stalk for the fit and able.

Stalking parties cost £375 and must be led by the estate stalker. These weeks are very popular so should be booked in advance.

Fishing

Pet’s Pond is a small, trout-stocked pond situated in Glen Strae. Guests are welcome to fish at the pond with either flies or spinners, but we do ask that you put back any fish that you don’t intend to eat.

Loch Awe contains the odd salmon, trout and pike, and the boat can be taken up the mouth of the River Orchy.

We can also book guests in on a beat or two on the River Awe. The beats are situated just below the dam of the loch, where we regularly catch plenty of salmon. To be on the safe side, we do advise all fishing parties hire a ghillie for the day which, again, can be arranged.

Pheasant shooting

Pheasant shooting days are available to book and consist of 50 to 100 bird days at £34.50 per bird. A simple lunch in the heated shoot barn is also included. We can arrange chaperones for the less experienced with prior arrangement,
